Here are ideas for all sorts of different occasions, milestones and important dates that we encounter:

Veteran's Day

  1. Go knock on a neighbor veteran's door and tell them you are honored to live in their neighborhood. He or she might be speechless, but they'll feel honored more than any medal or gift they've received.
  2. Put a sign in your front door to say "Thanks" to all veterans who pass by.
  3. Bring a plate of brownies to the local VFW... and then sit down and listen to some of their stories. After all, being heard is one of the best gifts of all!
  4. If that veteran is your husband or wife, give them a foot massage to thank them for their march of freedom.
  5. Marry a veteran or service member... if you aren't already! It will change the way you view freedom!

Milestone Birthday

  1. Pepper the front lawn with pink flamingos. All the neighbors will stop by to say "Happy Birthday"!
  2. Put a crown next to a hot cup of coffee… queens need a little help waking up just like everyone else!
  3. Place a special charm that reflects the birthday in her birthday card.
  4. Decorate her front yard or car with streamers, signs and balloons.
  5. Fill a beautiful vase with mini packets of Dove Promises chocolates… each sweet treat will give a little inspiration!
  6. Fill beautyFULL™ with a pair of earrings (to represent the wisdom that your friend has imparted to your ears), a peppermint candy (to represent what a sweet friend she is to you), and a gift card to a favorite home improvement store (to represent the support system that is continually being built in her life). beautyFULL™ will remind her that she is Full of Beauty, no matter what age!

New House

  1. Put a packet of seeds in a new planter on the porch with a note, “Looking forward to establishing roots with you!”
  2. Print out a list of delivery restaurants (pizza, Chinese, etc) in the area. Better yet, give a gift card to one of them!
  3. Bring over a basket filled with cleaning supplies to get them started in their journey to making the new house a home.
  4. Deliver a pack of new padded hangers… the old hangers probably got smashed in the move!
  5. Create a gift basket of essentials: batteries, flashlight, garbage bags, lint roller, etc. Put a gift card to a favorite restaurant into a gift card holder like cheerFULL™ and put it on the front door step!

Death in a friend's family

  1. Bring a lasagna meal, complete with bread and dessert… no one wants to cook while grieving!
  2. Pull weeds in the front yard or mow the lawn… they will be reminded that caring for on another in a time of need is a wonderful part of lie!
  3. Send them a card with "Footprints" message on it… they’ll know that God is carrying them through the painful times.
  4. Bring fresh flowers a few days afte the funeral… they will see the flowers as a sign that beauty and hope in life continue.
  5. Go to the memorial service in support of your friend, even if you did not know the deceased.
  6. Send them a prayerFULL™ greeting card.

When Traveling (Planes, Trains & Automobiles???)

  1. Take an extra bottle of water to give to the person next to you. Most people don't drink enough on the plane.
  2. Offer your newspaper to the person sitting next to you on the plane or train
  3. Have an extra apple in your purse? Give it to someone who ran late to the plane!
  4. Give a compliment to the ticket taker... they are unusually unrecognized!
  5. Help a fellow traveler put their bag up on the shelf.

Valentine's Day

  1. Write a poem to your friend or spouse. And no, it doesn't have to rhyme!
  2. Print out a love note from lovingyou.com and put it in hopeFULL™!
  3. Keep a stash of kid-type Valentines in your purse... put them in the tip jars at your coffee joint (of course, with a dollar too! =)
  4. Don't forget your single friends on Valentine's Day. It is typically the worst day of the year for them! Send them a note to say how thankful you are for their friendship.
  5. Send beautyFULL™ with a lipstick to those single girlfriends!

Mother's Day

  1. Tell Mom she is a blessing in your life!
  2. Call her... just call her so she can hear your voice.
  3. Send her a handmade card, in crayon, just like the ones you used to give in third grade! Add why not add glitter?
  4. Give her something she wouldn't dare spend the money on for herself.
  5. Send her a flower from her garden like these dipped and preserved in gold.
  6. Here's our favorite Mother's Day gift idea: Show your appreciation for her love and influence love by sending beautyFULL™ to her today! And add a gift card for a book store where she can choose something she really wants to read. And include your personalized message that WISHFULLS will hand write on the gift tag!

Graduation Day

  1. Frame his tassel, cap and program from the graduation ceremony
  2. Does she have a job interview? Put a hopeFULL™ on her interview folder the morning of the interview and write a special note of encouragement. Include a gift card to her favorite coffee restaurant to help her relax after the interview and daydream of her new job!
  3. Get business cards printed for your new graduate... he may not have a job yet, but having business cards will make him feel professional when meeting others.
  4. Put a sign in the front yard to announce your graduate's success - neighbors will appreciate the opportunity to pass on their congratulations!
  5. Arrange for her to meet with a resume professional... it always helps to get a fresh eye on a resume.
